Alex Steen and Darren Helm to Appear on Leaf Talk Today

After taking a few weeks off to enjoy the holidays, and more recently enjoy a sweet Toronto Maple Leafs victory over the Atlanta Thrashers, Leafs Talk Today is back with two all new episodes next week, with two fantastic guests.

First up is this Monday, Jan. 5 when the Leafs Talk crew returns with a bonus episode of the show focusing on the Gold Medal game of the 2009 World Junior Hockey Championships.

Monday's show goes live to air at 6 PM on and will take you right up to puck drop with everything you need to know about the night's gold medal matchup, and we'll also look back at this year's tournament.

Aside from analysis and breaking news leading up to the game, we will also be joined by former Team Canada World Junior and Stanley Cup Champion Darren Helm.

Darren drops by the show to talk to us about his experience winning World Junior gold, and the Stanley Cup last season with the Red Wings.

Then, on Wednesday Jan. 7, Leafs Talk Today returns to its regular day and time with a very special, exclusive sit-down interview with former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alex Steen.

Steen was looked at by many in Leafs Nation as a fan favourite right up until he was traded earlier this year to St. Louis in exchange for Lee Stempniak.  A former first-round pick of the Leafs, Alex will join us to speak candidly about his time in Toronto, the transition to St. Louis, and everything in between in an interview you won't want to miss.

We are also working on several new ways to improve the official Leafs Talk website, which you can learn about on the site's home page.  You'll also be happy to know that the previous audio issues we had with the show are completely worked out, which will make for a better listening experience.
