Just tonight Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren announced that Chris Pronger is out for the remainder of this season due to severe post concussion symptoms.

The last Flyer to have this happen to him was another captain: Keith Primeau.

Both players helped steer the Orange and Black ship deep into the playoffs.

Now Pronger much like his Flyer predecessor could be staring down the barrel of retirement faster than Flyer fans can ask why.

Right now the Philadelphia Flyers sit atop the Eastern Conference in first place. They have done so with Pronger missing most of the season. Can they continue to play at this pace even if Homer is to pull off one of his masterful trades by the deadline?

Can the Flyers' locker room rally around each other?

Has Chris Pronger played his last NHL game? I pray he has not as he has so much to offer not only to the Philadelphia Flyers but to the sport of Hockey.

Let's keep a candle lit for Captain Chris and his family as it is his brain that is injured. Hopefully even if he can't continue to play hockey he will be able to live a normal life after this.
