Packing for Vegas: College Basketball Picks Dec. 30

Andrew KahnCorrespondent IDecember 30, 2008

Last night's loss was tough, especially since Stephen Curry missed two free throws down the stretch. Keep in mind he shoots nearly 90% from the line. If he hits just one of those, I get my cover. Instead, i'm a half-point loser. But hey, that's gambling.

Tonight I'm back on the horse, and it's a familiar horse: the Oklahoma Sooners. I don't believe I've lost with them yet, and I hope the streak continues tonight against Arkansas.

The Razorbacks are 9-1, including 8-0 at home, but I'm not scared at all. Their wins have come against teams like 0-15 North Carolina Central, 0-13 Texas Southern, and 2-9 Florida A&M. In fact, they haven't beaten anyone who is any good. And they lost to Missouri State.

Therefore, nobody really knows how good Arkansas is. We do, however, know that Oklahoma is very, very good. So I have a lot of faith in the Sooners putting Arkansas in its place tonight, and getting me closer to my goal of 65%.

Today's pick: Oklahoma -5; 2 units

Season Record: 23-15 (61 percent); +13.5 units
