SB Nation has reported that according to reports, Fresno State's search for a new head football coach has ended.

Tim DeRuyter, current defensive coordinator and interim head coach at Texas A&M, will reportedly fill the vacancy left by the firing of Pat Hill, the Bulldogs' head coach for the last 15 seasons.

DeRuyter coached at Air Force from 1991-1994 and from 2007-2009, and from 1995-1998 he was the defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Ohio.

After a three-year stint as the secondary coach at Navy, he found himself back at Ohio to take over the same duties he had at the school in the 90s.

From 2005-2006 he was the co-defensive coordinator at Nevada, and he's been at Texas A&M from 2010 to the present.

The front-runner for the job seemed to be Alabama's offensive coordinator Jim McElwain. Colorado State was able to woo the the once-Fresno State offensive coordinator away from the Bulldogs.

Oakland Raiders running backs coach Kelly Skipper was also in the mix, as well. Skipper's brother Tim is currently a coach at Fresno State.

SB Nation also reported that DeRuyter will coach the Aggies in the Meneke Car Care Bowl against Northwestern.
