Arizona State vs. Boise State: Why the Broncos Will Dismantle the Sun Devils

It was not too many weeks ago that the Sun Devils were favorites to win the Pac-12 South and have a shot at the Rose Bowl. Well, to many fans' dismay, the season was a failure.

If it was not for FCS' UC Davis, ASU would not even be in a bowl game this year. The Sun Devils have lost five of their last six games to put a terrible cap on their season.

On the other hand, Boise State would consider their season a failure, too, after losing to TCU on a missed field goal. If Boise State would have made that field goal, they would most likely be in a BCS bowl game, if not the national championship.

Unfortunately for ASU, Boise State is going to dismantle the Sun Devils.

Not only is Arizona State on a hefty losing streak with no momentum, they have a lame duck coach in Dennis Erickson. I would expect the Sun Devils to play uninspired football against the Broncos.

However, Boise State has rebounded well after their disappointing defeat. They have soundly beaten the last three opponents, including a 45-0 shutout of New Mexico to end the regular season.

The fact of the matter is the Broncos are angry. They are hungry for redemption.

Last year, after missing a field goal against Nevada, Boise State destroyed Utah 26-3 in the same bowl game, the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl. History has a tendency to repeat itself.

In this game, I would expect Kellen Moore to throw up ridiculous numbers in a victory over ASU. In addition, if standout linebacker Vontaze Burfict does not play, I would expect this game to be a blowout.

Boise State will leave ASU scratching their heads after a disappointing season—one that fell apart and included the departure of their head coach.
