UFC 140 Results: What We Learned from Igor Pokrajac vs. Krzysztof Soszynski

First LastCorrespondent IDecember 10, 2011

In the final preliminary bout of the evening, Igor Pokrajac got a huge victory over former Ultimate Fighter Krzysztof Soszynski in brutal highlight-reel fashion.

Pokrajac was able to stun his opponent and follow up just 35 seconds into the fight to put Soszynski out cold and face-first on the canvas.

What we'll remember about this fight

This fight will be remembered for the brutal fashion in which it ended. Soszynski has lost by knockout before, but this may have been the most devastating loss of his career. It didn't last very long, and it's hard to take anything away from it and not say "wow."

What we learned about Igor Pokrajac

Pokrajac is an experienced veteran, and he got his most impressive performance of his six-fight UFC career tonight. It may have been a much-needed one, as his UFC record was 2-3 coming into tonight's fight. Because he was able to knock out a fan-favorite fighter that was the favorite going into the fight, it will go down as his best win to-date.

What we learned about Krzysztof Soszynski

Soszynski really didn't show much of anything in this fight, and he didn't have the opportunity to do so. He just got caught at a point in the fight where most are vulnerable. If he showed anything at all, it was that he couldn't recover from a punch. As mentioned before, he has been knocked out six times in his career of 39 bouts.

What's next for Pokrajac

A fight versus Aaron Rosa could be next for Pokrajac. He is even at 3-3 in his UFC career so he can't jump too far ahead despite having a very impressive win.

What's next for Soszynski

Cyrille Diabaté could be next for "The Polish Experiment," and it's one that makes sense now that Sosyznski suffered a knockout loss. Diabate is 2-2 in his UFC career.
