Weather Forecast for UFC White House Fight

At 5’ 11” Walel Watson is one of the taller bantamweights in the UFC. His opponent, Jabouin, stands at just 5’ 6”. Jabouin got inside on Watson quite a few times and landed some great overhand rights, and one spinning back fist.

Jabouin showed us in great fashion that skill trumps size. Despite the fact that he couldn’t finish Watson, Jabouin looked great, and showed great heart as he fought through some tight submission attempts by Watson.

What We Learned About Yves Jabouin

Jabouin looked great in this fight. He pushed the pace, had some great striking, takedowns, and some terrific submission escapes.

Jabouin certainly has the ability to be a big contender at the bantamweight division.

What We Learned About Walel Watson

Despite having a significant size advantage, Watson had trouble landing any significant shots against his much smaller opponent. While Watson did look good, he may have been counting on his size a bit too much.

What’s Next For Yves Jabouin

In his last five fights, Jabouin has only gone 2-3. He looked really great tonight, but he needs to put up a few more wins before he can be considered a top contender at bantamweight. Hopefully he’ll get a spot on the main card after another win.

What’s Next For Walel Watson

This was only Watson’s second fight inside the UFC. It was an entertaining fight, but not the greatest showcase of skills. Watson will be staying on the preliminary card for now.
