Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets: Live Score, Video and Analysis
The New York Jets had complete control of this game.
Sanchez had four total touchdowns on Sunday. He threw a touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes and LaDainian Tomlinson. Sanchez also scored on the ground for the second time to help the Jets take a demanding lead.
The Jets defense also shined by sacking Tyler Palko five times. Jim Leonhard picked off Palko at one point in the game, but it came at a high price.
The only dark moment for the Jets was the loss of Leonhard, who was taken out of the game and was sent to the locker room on a cart. Leonhard suffered an ankle injury after the play and was not able to walk on it. No announcement has been made, but it appears that his season could be over.
The Chiefs chances of winning the AFC West is evaporating as they are forced to win out while the Oakland Raiders and the Denver Broncos are required to lose out in order for the Chiefs to win the division.
The Jets are still in the running to win the AFC East. If the New England Patriots take the East, the Jets still have a legitimate shot at earning one of two wild-card spots.
Final score: Jets 37-10
Missed highlights from today's game?
Check them out here!
Tyler Palko in with 66 seconds remaining. Ricky Stanzi never entered the game.
Jackie Battle gets gang-tackled by the Jets in the end zone. Great penetration from the Jets front defenders.
Mark Brunell is really good at yelling. Either that, or CBS gave him a microphone.
Mark Brunell is in at quarterback for the Jets. About time. You don't really want Sanchez hurt.
Oh, and Dwayne Bowe should have caught that. Horrible drop. His drop habits are coming back.
The Chiefs with a defensive highlight. Tamba Hali sacks Mark Sanchez and strips the ball out on a fourth down play.
That is the worst executed onside kick that I have ever seen.
Tyler Palko finds Jerheme Urban in traffic for Kansas City's first touchdown of the game. His first as a Chief and his first touchdown since 2008.
The crazy part is, Urban caught that with lots of Jets defenders in the area.
The Jets are one quarter away from winning.
Kansas City's game plan should be to keep it low and just kill the clock. I'm sure everyone on the Chiefs want to get on that plane ride home.
The Chiefs almost had a touchdown. They were just short of blocking that punt.
Tyler Palko, oddly enough, is still in for the Chiefs.
So if I am not mistaken, Le'Ron McClain was flagged for standing up for Tyler Palko.
Two rushing touchdowns for Mark Sanchez today. Great game for Sanchez who has four total touchdowns.
The Chiefs have been penalized for 81 yards on this drive.
The referees deserve the MVP award for this drive.
The penalties are just piling on the Chiefs. We've had more plays with penalties than plays without penalties.
The Jets with a sloppy drive right now. Lots of penalties pushing them back.
But Kansas City just gave the Jets an automatic first down off of a penalty. Now the Jets have a new set of downs.
The zebras are taking over in the second half.
Tyler Palko sacked for the fifth time today. Eric Smith was there to end the drive.
Jets defense has had complete control from start to finish. That was Kansas City's best drive of the day, and it was still bad.
Tyler Palko can't pass, so he decided to run it a couple of times. Might as well..
It looked like the biggest priority for the Jets was to try and move the clock, but also pick up a first down without turning it over.
There are a lot of empty seats at MetLife Stadium. Is that because the bathroom lines are long or did the fans find this boring and decided to leave?
The Chiefs had a little flash on that drive, but nothing special.
This game is really over. The Jets should focus on scoring as much as they can, but also try to kill the clock. Kansas City is not a threat to put together a second half rally.
Tyler Palko is still in for the Chiefs. I find that a little interesting, but it's not like it would make much of a difference if Ricky Stanzi came in.
I guess all we can do is sit and watch.
If your a Chiefs fan, this halftime intermission was a much needed one.
The Chiefs have 21 plays for four total yards and only one first down.
The Jets have a demanding lead and could very well score 50 points, if they want to.
The Chiefs defense is worn out.
LT finds the end zone through the air on another short drive for the Jets.
I will go ahead and say it. It is all but over.
Jeremy Kerley with a great punt return to set the Jets up in Kansas City territory.
Shonn Greene extends the lead. This is out of control for the Chiefs.
LT with a huge catch to move the chains and pick up more yards.
This is a great Chiefs defense, but they cannot play perfect when their offense is barely on the field.
The Jets cough up the football in the red zone and Brandon Flowers comes away with the recovery.
Shonn Greene's bottom looked like it came down before the ball came loose. I think the Jets have it.
