Fantasy Football Rankings: Calvin Johnson and the Top 5 WR Plays
Detroit Lions wide receiver was held relatively in check by the bracket coverage of the New Orleans Saints last week, managing only six receptions for 69 yards, but "Megatron" should find the sledding quite a bit easier this Sunday against a reeling Minnesota Vikings secondary.
1.) Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions (vs. MIN): Fantasy football's second highest scoring wide receiver goes up against a Minnesota Vikings defense that has allowed the second most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, making this a matchup made in heaven.
2.) Wes Welker, New England Patriots (at WAS): No wide receiver in the NFL has scored more fantasy points this season than Welker, who should continue his sterling season against cornerback DeAngelo Hall and a beatable Washington Redskins secondary.
3.) Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers (vs. OAK): Jennings has been a top five fantasy option at his position to this point in the season and should be in for a solid day against an Oakland Raiders squad surrendering the 11th most fantasy points to wideouts.
4.) Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants (at DAL): The third year pro is coming off one of his best games of the 2011 season with seven catches for 88 yards and two scores a week ago and should shine in the huge NFC East showdown Sunday night.
5.) Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers (vs. ATL): Smith has already posted his highest yardage total since 2008 in Cam Newton's first year with the Panthers and should be in for a slew of targets this week when Carolina hosts the Atlanta Falcons.
