NBA Free Agency 2011: Nene Rumored to Sign with Nets; Will They Still Get Howard?
Free-agent center Nene has been visiting with various teams, however, it seems as if he has the most interest in joining the New Jersey Nets. Is this simply a back-up plan in case the Dwight Howard-deal falls through, or is this an attempt to have one of the most feared frontcourts in the NBA?
According to a league source associated with the Daily News, the Nets have already offered Nene a four-year deal worth 65 million dollars.
Averaging 14.5 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.0 BPG, and 1.1 SPG last season with the Denver Nuggets, Nene would be a incredibly valuable asset to the Nets, especially if they plan to acquire Dwight Howard as well.
As it seems Nene is reaching the prime of his career, he will make great contributions to whichever team he ends up on. However, the best situation for Nene would be to either remain with the Nuggets or to sign with a rebuilding Nets team that continues to add valuable pieces to an already promising core lineup.
Check back to see which team Nene chooses to play for in the upcoming NBA season.
