Cheick Kongo to Mostapha Al Turk: A Ball for a Ball

It takes something special for a grown man to yell out the phrase, "Oh momma!" to his television screen. The annual Victoria Secret fashion show is one. The annual Lingerie Bowl is another. A man receiving a vicious knee strike to the testicles the other.

Just under three minutes into the first round of fight against Mostapha Al Turk at UFC 92, Kongo received an unintentional knee strike to the groin. A strike sufficient enough for the heavyweight to take some of his allowed five minutes to regain his composure, and for his testicle to drop out of his abdomen.

Fight again began, the slightest high pitched sigh could be heard from the newly crowned soprano Kongo, who avoided going for the clinch in favor of protecting his reason for living.

The two fighters pawed at each other as Al Turk seemed to be having no success at taking Kongo to the ground.

About a minute later, Al Turk found himself on the receiving end of an "unintentional" knee strike right to his goodie bag. Referee Steve Mazzagati separated the two fighters and could be heard saying, "I hope that was an accident."

Al Turk too took a bit of time to get the taste of his own ball out of his mouth before fighting resumed. Kongo eventually won the fight at 4:37 of the first round, which made for one of the longest first rounds, just over seven minutes, in modern UFC history.

There is no doubt that there was some extra ice needed by both fighters in the locker room after the fight.

So, was either knee intentional? You be the judge; see the video here.

I don't entirely think that Kongo was aiming for the "Al-Nad", but I don't think he was trying to avoid it either. Extra ice indeed, and maybe a bit of cauliflower-ball.

hahaha It's sorta like an aggressive baseball pitcher who throws a high hard fastball to intentionally to move the batter back a bit, but accidentally misses the intended target, they meant it ....ouch!!!

I guess I figured out the one fighter who I dislike more than Rashad Evans - Cheick Kongo - even though they are both boring - at least Rashad does not fight dirty. Knee to the groin is like Cheick Kongo's signature move; is that his plan for capturing the title - hit the opponent to the balls enough times to score a GKO? I really don't see him winning against either Lesnar or Mir

He's a big dude but for him to be a credible (and liked) mma fighter - he needs to stop hitting ppl in the nuts & KO'ing the opponents (I mean top opponents - his match against Cro Cop was one of the biggest borefests i've seen)

His real concern is fighting an opponent with extensive steroid use and subsequent small testicles, making for a hard target.

Cheick Kongo is developing quite the attraction for low shots. He dished them out in a couple matches now. I do believe they are unintentional but if he makes a habit out of it he will be given a dirty fighter reputation, something that no fighter truly wants

I am beginning to think Kongo is a dirty fighter first he knees a washed up Mirko in the Balls when he was already winning and then knees Al-turk and doesn't show any sort of remorse.Cheick Kongo Low Blows Mustapha Al-Turk UFC 92

I don't think it was intentional, but Kongo became more wild and that's why he caught Al-Turk in the Al-Sack.
