Syracuse just keeps on getting better with another win over a top ranked opponent, this win coming from No. 8 Georgetown 77-70.Paul Harris led the winning team in scoring with 22 and Johnny Flynn pitched in 17 points and nine dimes. Jonathan Wallace put in 26 points in a losing effort for the Hoyas and C Roy Hibbert only scored 11.
For Georgetown, its their first two game losing streak this season, as they were previously ranked No. 6 then fell down to No. 8, now with the loss their stock will plummet even more.
This game was the Orange's game for the taking, as they jumped out to a early 21-4 run and lead by 16 at intermission. Georgetown was able to bridge the gap by going on a 12-0 run to cut the deficit to 5, 55-50 with 7:22 remaining. But Syracuse responded by the Hoyas 14-9 during a crucial 6:40 span to close out the game.
The Hoyas lacked baskets down the stretch, and their inability to keep Syracuse off the glass proved to be costly at the Carrier Dome. The Orange outrebounded their opponent 32-23, shot a better FG percentage at 44.4 to 41.8, and shot better from the charity strike at 82.1 to 76.5.
As I predicted weeks ago, the ''Orange'' showed that passion and charisma and took this game away from their Big East threat and its only the first for this group of talented youngsters.
With the win Syracuse goes to 17-9 and Georgetown falls to 20-4.

How did Georgetown get crushed win they only won by seven?Did you even watch the game, or did you just look at highlights and box scores? And by the way, they are no longer known as the Orangemen. It's the Syracuse Orange.

I have the right to call them whatever I want to call them and they did get crushed. They only won by seven thanks to late 3's by Wallace.

Don't feel about about calling them the Orangemen. Every life-long fan I've ever met does the same thing. I know I do.
And also, for the record, the first half wasn't even close. The second half was just a little relaxed, but never really got too serious. The AP called it a "manhandling". Close enough to "crush" for me.
