Is another woman planning to leave the company to pursue outside interests? Hot on the heels of former diva Maryse's decision to move on from the wrestling business and attempt to make it in the fashion industry, Dave Meltzer reports in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Kelly Kelly may also be positioning herself for a career outside of the WWE:
Kelly has been trying to get herself out for projects such as acting and modeling in late 2012 pushing the name Barbara Blank instead of Kelly Kelly. Whether it's her just trying to have a backup plan, testing the waters to see if there's interest in her, or her outwardly looking at something different, nobody knows.
Possibly indicating her new-found career ambitions, Kelly recently launched her official website, which features the star in exclusive non-WWE photoshoots. In her biggest modelling gig to date, she was also on the cover of men's magazine Maxim last month, which was promoted on WWE television.
Given the extremely limited in-ring time and general marginalization of the women in WWE in recent times, no one could blame the former Divas champion for looking elsewhere. Indeed, former WWE diva Maria Kanellis has frequently cited professional frustration and a booking team indifferent to the women's roster as the main reason why she is no longer with the promotion. Current TNA Knockout Gail Kim quit WWE earlier this year for similar reasons.
