Florida State Jumps Around Wisconsin in Champs Sports Bowl

Chris WhitmoreCorrespondent IJune 10, 2016

The Seminole bench seemed to be enjoying the fourth quarter Wisconsin tradition of jumping around to House of Pain's "Jump Around."

The Wisconsin bench was somber when the fourth quarter began.  And that was when they were only down 28-6.

Florida State would score two more touchdowns and allow a useless touchdown by Wisconsin to win the game 42-13.

The Nole's speed proved too much for the powerful Wisconsin after a slow start when both teams remained scoreless in the first quarter.

FSU would get on the board first with a 75 yard fumble recovery by Derek Nicholson after FSU lineman Neefy Moffet batted down a lateral pass.  Florida State would never look back on their lead.

Sophomore quarterback Christian Ponder threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns including an amazing one-handed grab by Greg Carr in the back corner of the end zone.

Senior running back Antone Smith made FSU 9-0 when he scores a touchdown as he reached the endzone in the third quarter.

The Champs Sports Bowl MVP was awarded to FSU'S Lou Groza Award kicker Graham Gano.  Gano landed three punts inside the Wisconsin three yard line in the first half and another in Wisconsin 10 yard line.

FSU's win improved their record to 9-4 and their first 9-win season since 2004.
