In a back-and-forth battle with North Carolina, West Virginia wins the Meineke Car Care Bowl. It seemed as if North Carolina would come back, but then all of a sudden an interception by Lasher and West Virginia wins.
Pat White becomes the first ever quarterback to win all four bowl games as a starter in Division I college football. White was the Capital One player of the game and it was well deserved.
He had only six incomplete passes and was 11/11 on third down, according to the ESPN stat guys. And that is saying something.
He had a career-high 332 passing yards and three TDs. He says he can play quarterback in the NFL and with this win, he proved he can win, so why not? West Virginia only had twelve seniors including White and had nine wins led by White.
White's final game was one for the history books, and reminds me of another Virginia guy. That is right: Michael Vick. Of course, I am talking about the football side of Vick and not the other we all know about.
Vick turned out well in the NFL, and White looks as if he can too, as long as he plays like he did in his final game. He didn't make many mistakes, and looked like the Heisman candidate he was at the beginning of the season.
Some say he is the greatest Mountaineer player ever. What do you think?
