The Top 10 Quarterbacks In The NFL

This year we have seen some new faces emerge at the QB position Aaron Rodgers Matt Cassel, and Matt Ryan. and some familiar faces faces Kurt Warner,Brett Favre, and Tony Romo so lets start the countdown of the top 10 Quarterbacks (with discussion) While some might agree while some disagree i hope you enjoy the slideshow. I would like to hear your comments and objections.

10. Chad Pennington

Chad Pennington this year has led the worst team in the NFL to almost a playoff spot. He has led the Wildcat system with help from Ronnie Brown. He deserved to go to the Pro Bowl but got snubbed.Chad deserves to be on the list for the way he is playing and how he turned around a 1 win team to a 10 to 11 win team.

9. Jay Cutler

Some may argue that seeing Cutler as 9th on the list is too low and should be higher. He has been playing well this year but he and his team have lost too many games. They still have a chance to make the playoffs but they should have locked up the division last week but his receiver dropped the ball. He has had some crucial mistakes this year and some lucky breaks.(ed hockulie) Otherwise has had a great year statistically.He deserves to be number 9 on my board.

8. Matt Cassel

Matt Cassel can be described as WOW this year. He has led the Patriots from being written off with the Tom Brady injury to possible contenders in the AFC. He has become a star in the league. The Patriots could i know this sounds crazy but could be going to the Super Bowl on the back of Cassel. They could make it because every game Cassel does better. He deserves to be on the list.

7. Kurt Warner

Kurt has done good this year up to the last 2 games where he has been benched in the last two games for his team getting blown out. He has done a pretty good job this year leading the Cardinals back to playoffs but the last two weeks the team has looked worse then the Detroit Loins. Kurt Warner has been mentioned in the MVP discussion i think he should not even be mentioned in it again this year. He still deserves to be in the top 10 but not higher then 7th. The Cardinals need to work on a running game for Warner to be successful passing the ball.

6. Tony Romo

Tony Romo is the QB of Americas team dating Jessica Simpson signed a contract extension some say he has it all, no he does not he does not have a super bowl ring or a playoff win. He faces so much pressure as Dallas's Quarter Back. He is a good QB even with all the pressure on him. He would be higher on the list but he missed 3 games with a thumb injury and has thrown some crucial interceptions in games. Everybody could see how valuable he is to the Cowboys when Brad Johnson had to step in as QB and win only one game out of three. Romo is one of the top 10 QBs in the league and with room for improvement.

5. Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan has been superman for Atlanta this season. He has led the Falcons from cellar dwellers to NFC contenders. I projected Matt Ryan to struggle this season but who wouldn't have projected him to do this good with a 1st time head coach and a not so good team at the time. He has lead Atlanta to a possible wild card or a division title and 1st round bye. He has been mentioned in MVP conversations i think he should be. I don't think he should win it but i would place him 2nd behind AP. Matt Ryan if he continues to get better he could become the best in the league.

4. Eli Manning

Eli Manning is finally out of his brothers shadow. He beat the 18-1 Patriots to win the Super Bowl, won Super Bowl MVP, made a Pro Bowl, got the number 1 seed in the NFC. Eli and the Giants this year have overcome many odds this year with the retirement of Michael Strahan and the injury of Osi Umenyioria to name a few. He has not put up the best numbers but he has done the stuff for his team to win. That's why Eli Manning will win more Super Bowls then his brother and be a great QB in this league.

3. Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers is a surprise to see this high on the list if someone made this list before the season started. He has exceeded expectations this season by leading the league in TDs this season and his team is getting hot at just the right time kinda like the Giants of last year. If his defense could guard a pass the Chargers would be division champs already. If the Chargers make the playoffs he should be in the MVP race but he has to beat Denver this week to make the playoffs. Philip River has just began to get the hang of playing at an elite level at the QB position. He could become a great passer with teams putting 7 to 8 in the box with LT in the backfield. No matter what anyone says Philip Rivers deserves to be this high on the list,

2. Drew Brees

Drew Brees this year has been a passing machine. He was challenging Dan Marino's passing record at one point but has fallen off the pace. He has made his passing weapons look really well this year. The emergence of Lance Moore has helped when Colston got injured. Brees has been a pretty good QB this year and would have finished in the top 3 in MVP voting this season if his team had made the playoffs. Brees deserves to be number 2 on the list but if he wants to become number one he has to make the playoffs more.

1. Peyton Manning

I know i have said Peyton Manning is overrated but he is number one on my list because he is to good. He manages to win after his team gets into an early hole and people write them off. He always accomplishes everything his critics say he cant do. He is the best QB in the NFL right now and will be for 1 or 2 more years then he will come back to earth and be a middle of the pack QB. He could possibly win 1 or 2 more Super Bowls. He will go down as a better QB then Eli but Eli will win more Super Bowls. Peyton Manning deserves to be number 1 on the list till someone out plays him.
