Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups: 2011 NFL Fantasy Football Roster Help
Keep an eye on Christian Ponder's hip injury, but if he’s at full practice by week's end, he should be a worthy starter against the Lions. Ponder looked good against the Broncos, and with Percy Harvin playing at his best, Ponder is worth a start if you’ve been going with someone like Ben Roethlisberger of late.
Expect the Vikings to be in another high-scoring game, as their secondary is sure to give up over 30 points to the Lions.
Matt Forte may not be done for the season, but he's going to be out for a few weeks and that means Marion Barber is a worthy flex play. Last week Toby Gerhart had a nice game against the Broncos run defense, and Barber should have a productive game as well.
Santana Moss –
With Fred Davis likely done for the year because of suspension, Santana Moss is now the top target in the passing game. Moss has a great matchup this week against the Patriots, so look for him to post the type of game that can help you advance in the playoffs.
Demaryius Thomas -
The Broncos moved Brandon Lloyd back in October to get Demaryius Thomas on the field, and it took some time for him to make an impact in the passing game. But he came up big against the Vikings' problematic secondary. Thomas is worthy of using as a WR-3 going forward as he gets the Bears and Patriots in the coming weeks.
How effective he will be depends on the continued development of Tim Tebow and if the Broncos will allow him to throw the football like he did in Minnesota. While Thomas can help your team, consider him a high risk, reward receiver.
