Fans have huge expectations when their team is selected to a college bowl game. Teams like the Texas Longhorns who have huge followings often will have a huge showing at bowl games. Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned after a fan has spent all that money on tickets, airfare and hotel rooms. Not everyone follows their team everywhere they go, but they still show the same passion for them no matter where they are watching.

The following teams are going to upset their fans when they won't pull out a victory in this bowl season.

The Texas Longhorns Will Lose to the Cal Golden Bears

The Longhorns have a very large fan base, but they are going to be in trouble when they travel to San Diego to take on the Golden Bears at the Holiday Bowl. The Longhorns are going to have a hard time handling the Golden Bears because they have been on a downfall this entire year.

The Longhorns have only been allowing 23.7 PPG this season, but the Golden Bears have been scoring relatively well behind running back Isi Sofele, who has ran for over 1,200 yards with nine touchdowns. Quarterback Zach Maynard hasn't been a consistent option this season, but he can do enough to help this Cal team move the ball.

The Longhorns have been able to stop the run this season, allowing only 3.34 yards per carry. Sofele can tear up any team though, so they will need to stop him. The Golden Bears will have to continue to play at a high level like they did against the Arizona State Sun Devils and Stanford Cardinal. Even though they lost to the Cardinal, they played well.

Prediction: Golden Bears 24, Longhorns 17

The Georgia Bulldogs Will Lose to the Michigan State Spartans

The Bulldogs came on strong towards the end of this year, but there is no doubt at how good the Spartans have been. The Spartans just lost out on the Big Ten title, as the Wisconsin Badgers squeezed by with a 42-39 victory. The Spartans have proven time and time again this year that they can win, and they will be able to take that into their game against the Bulldogs.

After a slow start, losing their first two games, the Bulldogs were able to turn things around and win their remaining 10 games. They did lose to the LSU Tigers in the SEC championship, and they lost bad, 42-10.  The Bulldogs did handle the Auburn Tigers and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets relatively easily, but those teams were not that great this season.

The Spartans, on the other hand, were able to defeat the Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers back-to-back in the middle of the season. Coming to close to defeating the Badgers once again, the Spartans could have found themselves in the Rose Bowl. They should have at least been in the Sugar Bowl.

The Spartans are a better team, and they will prove so at the Outback Bowl.

Prediction: Spartans 31, Bulldogs 21

The Florida Gators will Lose to the Ohio State Buckeyes

With their recent hiring of Urban Meyer, the Buckeyes are going to be pumped to defeat their new coach's former team at the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl. There is no doubt that this will be the headline of this bowl game, but there is more to it then just the Meyer back story.

The game is in Jacksonville, Fla. That does give the Gators home field advantage, but the Buckeyes have been a strong team at the end of this season. Both teams are 6-6, but the Buckeyes were missing running back Dan Herron. Herron gives the Buckeyes a strong running game, which doesn't fare well for a Gators team who is allowing 134 yards a game.

The Gators will be fighting hard, but this Buckeyes team will ultimately come through. It will be close, but the motivation of the Meyer situation will be enough to make these Buckeyes want to make their new coach proud. Sure, the Gators will want to stick it to their old coach, too. In the end, the Buckeyes will prevail.

Prediction: Buckeyes 23, Gators 20
