The Florida International Panthers are once again going to a bowl game.

After finishing the best regular season in school history, the Panthers will travel north to St. Petersburg, Florida, for the Beef O' Brady's Bowl.

Not only will this be their second consecutive bowl appearance, but also their second consecutive appearance in a food-themed bowl. Last year, they played in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.

Florida International went 8-4, including a win on the road against Big East champ Louisville, to tie with the Florida State Seminoles for the best record in the Sunshine State.

After getting their Facebook page blown up like like a cell phone from all the FIU fans demanding an appearance, the Beef O' Brady's Bowl invited the Panthers to play at Tropicana Field.

All that remains now is to determine who will be FIU's opponent.

It could be Pittsburgh, and, if so, that would be the most ideal matchup. Not only would it create a battle of the Panthers, but should FIU prevail, they will have beaten two BCS teams in one season.

Other possible opponents are the Marshall Thundering Herd or Tulsa Golden Hurricane, both of Conference USA.

But, let's hope that it's Pittsburgh.
