Top 5 Arsenal Players This Season So Far

Arsenal certainly had a shaky start to the season, with some horrendous performance against sides they would usually beat. But despite the poor performances, there have been some high points.

This slide contains who I think have been the top five Arsenal players this season. These players have shown maturuity, skill and scored great goals or saves.

5.Manuel Almunia

The reliable and consistent keeper has been strong so far in Arsenal's shaky season. Despite a few errors which have lead to goals the Englishmen has done a good job in keeping the Arsenal goal clean.

He consistently pulls off many fine saves and his leadership has been excellent. On many occasions Almunia has been given the armband and he has shown is a reliable and experienced captain.

4.Samir Nasri

Since moving to Arsenal from French giants Marseille for 12 million pounds, Frenchmen Samir Nasri has been a huge breath of air for Wenger and Arsenal.

The talented midfielder won the hearts of the Arsenal fans by scoring goals in his Premier league and Champions league debut.

But the best was yet to come Nasri became an instant hero by scoring 2 superb goals in Arsenal's 2-1 win over rivals Manchester united.

His pace, balance, amazing tricks, and powerful shot have been a huge threat to defenses and a big part in the Arsenal attack.

3. Gael Clichy

The French left back can now boast a senior role in the talented Arsenal squad. Clichy has been superb as usual for the Gunners, constantly keeping the left side defensively very clean and tidy. Clichy has had the tough job of marking the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Dirk Kuyt and Joe Cole, but Clichy always manages to keep them quiet and uninvolved.

Clichy also scored his first goal for the club since coming in 2002.

2. Cesc Fabregas

The midfield maestro has had a great start to the season and was rewarded with the captains armband which many see as the best move of the season.

Fabregas has been involved in pretty much every good move, goal and tackle that Arsenal has produced, The Spanard passing has been superb and he has already got a host of assist under his name this season so far.

He has shown that he is easily one of the best in the world with his balance, passing, pace and amazing footballing brain.

1.Robin van Persie

The Dutchman has finally managed to stay fit till Christmas and it has been superb to watch the striker for the first half of the season.

Van Persie has scored some crucial and stunning goals this year, which is the main reason he leads the Arsenal scoring sheet with 10 goals.

The Dutchman has been in fine form with some great performances against rivals Chelsea and Liverpool. He scored two goals in the thrilling come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Chelsea where he won man of the match.

He was Arsenal's best player in their other rival match against Liverpool, scoring a magnificent and showing great maturity and leadership.
