Brett Rogers: Former Strikeforce Heavyweight Sentenced to 60 Days in Jail

Tim McTiernan@tmt2393Correspondent IDecember 1, 2011

As you may recall from a few months back, Brett Rogers was arrested for domestic abuse.

Rogers was accused of beating his wife, and was soon after released by Strikeforce.

He ended up pleading guilty to third degree assault.

Rogers was apologetic. He said: "I apologized before and I apologize again... It was just one of those nights, you know. Ever since that night, it's been hell for me, you know."

However, the judge felt that it was more than "just one of those nights" and has sentenced Rogers to serve 60 days in jail.

Rogers has already served 26 days, and—at a minimum—he will serve 14 more.

Rogers' probation also includes a domestic abuse program, no contact with his wife until he completes that program and no use drugs or alcohol.
