Just hours after becoming “highly agitated” by a Santa Claus impersonator at a team news conference on Tuesday, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin found himself “irked” by a bunch of carolers making the rounds inside his suburban neighborhood.
“To no end,” he added, via cell phone. “I’m trying to get a message across that we’ve got a game to play this weekend,” said the second year coach. “They’re not helping by singing their little songs.”
Asked if he was moved at all by the carolers’ holiday spirit, Tomlin fired back. “No, not in the least, and I told them they weren’t welcomed, just like I told those three ghosts that came by last night trying to talk to me about my past, present, and future. They don’t understand that the Browns have a lot to prove by beating us this weekend.”
It’s presumed Tomlin’s cell phone battery died after what sounded like a steam whistle going off.
