Tom Cable Deserves a Full Year as the Oakland Raiders' Head Coach

Sean ChisickContributor IDecember 23, 2008

Tom Cable has expressed his desire to return as the Raiders head coach next year and I for one am throwing in my vote to have this occur.  Cable has done something that the last few coaches have failed to do, create a new locker room atmosphere.

I know there are going to be a lot of Raider faithful out there that are probably going to rain on my little parade here, but hear me out. This past Sunday he did something that the last couple of coaches didn't, he got the team to find a steady rhythm.

Now, maybe the stats don't justify that last statement, but if you watched the game or the highlights, you could see the players actually giving their all. Sure, there were a couple of Raideresque mistakes, but as a whole the team played like an actual functioning team!

So, as a loyal fan for the past 23 years (hey, I am only 28) I say he deserves to keep this new regime in place.
