For Football Fans Christmas Can Come Twice a Year

True BlueCorrespondent IDecember 22, 2008

So Christmas is upon us again, and dads like me have spent a fortune hoping to make this the best Christmas ever for their kids.

I'm truly not after anything for myself of course, other than the reward of happy, smiling faces beaming back at me.

So i must know what it feels like to be a football chairman.

January is a few days away and chairmen across Europe are giddy with excitement about the possible additions to their footballing squads. (perhaps not at West Ham!)

I am pretty certain that they hope to see  happy, smiling faces beaming back - this time in the tens of thousands at game time.

Of course, just like my kids reaction to some of the presents they receive, fans will be disappointed with the players that are signed.

The unwrapping of these expensive gifts will last longer than the hour or so of Christmas morning but the euphoria or otherwise is the same.

Now lets hope that Father Christmas visit your teams dressing room with all that you wish for.

Merry Christmas to you all.
