Welcome to the National Football League's 2008-2009 Awards!

In my unwanted opinion, I have here my picks for NFL's prestigious awards.

Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Years, Offensive and Defensive Players of the Years, Executive of the Year, Coach of the Year, and the Most Valuable Player!
Some no-brainers, some controversial and some that would make you say, What's he thinking?

Enjoy and bring on the heat...I'm waiting to hear it from you!

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Matt Ryan QB Atlanta

Just give him the Offensive Rookie of the Year and walk away.

If you need further proof, read the numbers...
3280 yards, 15 TD, nine INTs, 61.7% completion, 89.7 QB Rating

Moreover Ryan has given the city of Atlanta a face for their beleaguered franchise. A one that might not be fighting dogs one day.
Hope Not!

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Jerod Mayo LB New England

The future staple of the New England Defense, Mayo has given the Patriots a dominating presence and big play maker from sideline to sideline.

121 Total Tackles
94 Solo
one Forced Fumble
one Fumble Recovered

Offensive Player of the Year: Drew Brees QB New Orleans

30 Touchdowns to 16 INTs
95.6 QB Rating
65.4% Completion
and 4683 Yards

Really I want to see you argue with this pick...go ahead...I'm waiting!

Defensive Player of the Year: James Harrison LB Pittsburgh

101 Total Tackles
67 Solo Tackles
16.0 Sacks
one INT
seven Forced Fumbles

The easy choice here would have been Ware of Dallas Cowboys, but Harrison has been involved with the defense more than Ware. And you can't ignore the fact that the Steelers are top ranked defense.

Coach of the Year: Bill Belichick New England

No Tom Brady, No problem....Matt Cassell the starting QB of the team coming of an undefeated regular season. No chance, right? Wrong!

Bill Belichick made a believer out of me, it wasn't Tom Brady, it was the SYSTEM!

Yes you heard it, Bill Belichick made the legend of Tom Brady!

Executive of the Year; Thomas Dimitroff Atlanta

Last January the Falcons were starting over from near scratch with the hiring of Mike Smith and a new general manager Thomas Dimitroff. This January, they’ll be in the playoffs.

Signing Michael Turner
Drafting Matt Ryan and other moves...
15 games later? The Atlanta Falcons have a bright future and seems to have escaped the shadows of the one Michael Vick!

Most Valuable Player: Phillip Rivers QB San Diego

A tough one here between the whirlwind year that Drew Brees is having to the resurgence of Kurt Warner. The Unexpected success of Chad Pennington to the almost counted out Peyton Manning. The continuity from last years playoff run by Eli Manning to one last shot in the arm attempt by Jake Delhome.

Who is THE most valuable player to his team?

How is this for a shocker, it's not any of these guys but a loudmouth Californian who might have had the best back and best defensive player in the league. Both who were irrelevant in this years late comeback of the San Diego Chargers.

It was on their QB, to bring the Chargers back from the dead on the brink of playoff berth as to look win the AFC West.

Rivers' numbers are not too shabby either. He is the highest rated QB in the league, in fact he is the only one in tripe digits. (104.0). He has 32 TD's thats more than Drew Brees and has the fifth most yards in NFL (3802). More importantly without Rivers the Chargers' would be packing it in before the last game of the year.

I wonder if he will ever shut up now more than ever!
