According to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, the Cincinnati Reds are actively shopping young slugger Yonder Alonso this offseason. In return for Alonso, the Reds are looking for what they consider to be a number two starter. Brown reports that the Reds have already spoken to the Rays, Indians, Blue Jays and A’s regarding Alonso. Alonso is a 24-year-old who, as he made his way through the Reds farm system, was regarded as one of the best prospects in the majors. In his short stint with the club last season, Alonso hit at a clip of .330/.398/.545 over his 98 plate appearances.
