In this slide show, I will go over the top five teams in the playoffs that we should watch because they could run the table and find themselves in Tampa Bay for the Super Bowl

At this point, we know that the top seed in the NFC and AFC are the Giants and Titans, respectively. The road to the Super Bowl must go through Tennessee and New York this year.

The Wild Cards are set up with the exception of two slots, which are being chased by up to six teams.

In the AFC, the Ravens, Patriots, and Jets are fighting for the final spot.

In the NFC, the Eagles, Cowboys, Buccaneers, and Bears are all fighting for that final spot.

No. 5: Miami Dolphins

If they do get into the playoffs, this is a team you just can't help but root for. Currently, the Dolphins are the leaders in the AFC East after the Jets totally fell apart, making the season finale against the Jets very crucial. If the Dolphins win they will rebound from a 1-15 campaign in 2007 to 11-5 and the AFC East Champions which is historic. This huge turn around could be put on the shoulders of Bill Parcells who was brought in during the offseason to turn this team into a contender. Well right away Bill brought in Tony Sparano to be his coach and that has turned out very well. Tony went to work right away trying to find a quarterback to lead his team, drafting Chad Henne and bringing in NFL traveler McCown. After the Jets got Brett Favre in the preseason and let go of Chad Pennington, the Dolphins went out and immediately picked up the Jets' rejected quarterback. What a difference Pennington has made this year for Miami. Chad has thrown for 3,453 yards and 17 scores this year while only throwing seven picks. The Wild Cat Offense that has swept through the NFL has helped Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown both pick up over four yards a carry this year.

Miami has won four straight games, by a combined 29 points, to get back into the AFC East hunt. If this team does get into the playoffs, it will have to face the Ravens in the Wild Card round (assuming Baltimore holds on). This team has the talent to win in the playoffs and should scare people if they hold on, which I do believe they will.

No. 4: Baltimore Ravens

If this team can hold on to the final Wild Card spot, they will be a major contender in the playoffs.

The Ravens came into the season with a rookie head coach in John Harbaugh, and rookie quarterback in Joe Flacco.

Flacco was not scheduled to start right away, but with illnesses and injuries to Kyle Boller and other quarterbacks on the roster, Flacco was forced into the starting job and has not looked back.

Flacco has recorded 2,674 yards passing with 14 scores and 12 picks. His biggest game was against the Bengals, in which he threw for 280 yards and two scores.

However, where this rookie has impressed me the most is how he has stayed composed against the league's top defenses.

Against the top defenses in the league (Titans, Steelers, Eagles, and Dallas), Flacco has recorded 956 yards, five TDs and six INTs. For a rookie quarterback, these are not bad numbers.

The rushing attack has really helped this team, as McClain has filled in very well for the injured McGahee, picking up 832 yards and eight scores, including a big one against Dallas.

When you talk about the Ravens, you have to bring up their dominating defense, which is ranked in the top five in every category.

Now the Ravens have to beat the Jaguars in the season finale to clinch the sixth seed in the AFC Playoffs.

This team reminds me a lot of last year's Giants, with the strong rushing attack and the brilliant defense. Do not be surprised to see the Ravens in Tampa Bay for the Super Bowl.

No. 3: Carolina Panthers

No one believed the Panthers would be 11-4 going into the final game of the year, especially after Jake Delhomme had surgery to his elbow in the off season.

Well, here the Panthers are, standing at an impressive 11-4, despite having just lost a thrilling 31-28 overtime game to the Giants in Week 16 action.

The Panthers' offense is ranked eighth in scoring this year, averaging 25.4 points a game and 146.9 rushing yards a game, good for fourth in the league.

Jake does not have great numbers this year, recording 14 scores, 12 picks, and 3,038 yards passing. He has also been sacked 19 times this year.

But Jake has played well against playoff teams this year (Chargers, Vikings, Falcons, Cardinals, Broncos, and Giants).

In these games, Jake has 1,750 yards, 7 TDs, and no picks. But against teams that the Panthers should have beaten easily, Jake has 7 TDs and 12 picks.

The rushing attack is what really drives this team. The combo of Williams and Stewart has picked up 2,117 yards and 27 TDs.

Meanwhile, the defense is ranked 10th in points allowed per game, 13th in yards per game, and 11th in passing yards allowed.

The Panthers are 8-0 at home this year, outscoring teams 204-104. Things get harder on the road for Carolina, however, as they are just 3-4 away from home, where they have been outscored 186-147.

Home field advantage in the playoffs would have been huge for this team, but the Panthers will still host one game.

Plus, the Giants could lose a game, which would then give the Panthers home field for more than one game. This team could make a run in the NFC.

No. 2: Tennesee Titans

The Titans come into Week 17 with a 13-2 record, having clinched home field with the huge 34-14 win over the Steelers last week.

The Titans are being led by the strong rushing attack of White and Johnson, who together have combined for 1,976 yards rushing and 24 TDs this season.

Kerry Collins stepped into the starting role after Vince Young was injured and really has renewed his career, throwing for 12 scores and 2,677 yards so far this season.

The defense for the Titans is ranked in the top 10 in every category and has been dominant. The Titans are ranked first in points allowed per game, fifth in yards per game, eighth in passing yards allowed per game, and fourth in rushing yards allowed per game.

The Titans can stop any of the rushing attacks of any other AFC playoff team, so that gives them a huge boost going into the playoffs.

Since the Titans' Week 12 loss to the Jets, they have blasted teams away. Since that game, the Titans have played very well, with the exception of the Texans game, which they lost 13-12.

In those four games since the Jets game, the Titans are 3-1 and have outscored teams 128-46. Collins has really played like an MVP quarterback in the last four games, throwing for 679 yards and three scores. Meanwhile, the rushing attack has picked up 674 yards in four games.

This team could very well win the AFC and perhaps the franchise's first-ever Super Bowl title.

No. 1: New York Giants

This team started out 11-1 before losing tough games to Philly, 20-14, and then to the Cowboys, 20-8.

In those first 12 games, the Giants simply dominated teams. They outscored teams 352-206, and the rushing attack of Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, and Ahmad Bradshaw combined for a total of 1,908 yards.

During their two-game losing streak, the Giants only managed 172 yards and no touchdowns. The defenses of the Eagles and Cowboys figured out the rushing attack and shut it down, forcing Eli Manning to beat them.

Now, you can attribute the rushing problems to the fact that Jacobs was injured early in the Eagles game, which meant the load went on Bradshaw and Ward. Now, in the last game, against the Panthers, the Giants got back on track, rushing for a total of 302 yards against a very good Panthers defense.

The success of this team is 100 percent on the rushing attack. If they can get things on track, the Giants will roll through the NFC Playoffs.

On the defensive side, the Giants are not as dominant as last year, but they are very close. The Giants rank fifth in average points against, seventh in average scoring against, and seventh in average passing yards against.

The Giants getting home field advantage is very important, since they are 7-1 at the Meadowlands, compared to 5-2 on the road.

The Giants' toughest opponent in the NFC should be a rematch with the Panthers in the NFC Championship, which should be an incredible game. Do not be surprised to see this team holding up a second straight Super Bowl trophy this year.
