According to ESPN's Brad Edwards, Temple (8-4) and Florida International (8-4) could be facing each other in the Beef 'O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl.

This bowl game would favor Florida International as a home game since it would be easier for its fans to travel. But to have this game be more of college football's version of Philadelphia vs. Miami would be more marketable and watchable.

Both teams would be showcasing top running talent. Temple will have Philly native Bernard Pierce and the seventh-best rushing attack in the nation in terms of yards per game. FIU has their best running back in school history in sophomore Kendrick Rhodes and his 1,121 rushing yards.

Both teams feature tough defenses that could give this game a ground-and-pound battle. Temple gives up an average of 13.8 points a game while Florida international allows 19.4 points per game.

Based off stats, Temple seems to have the advantage at running back and defense. But Florida International has a big advantage in quarterback and overall passing attack.

Senior quarterback Wes Carrol (Mississippi State transfer) has a near 60 completion percentage and a 14:4 touchdown to interception ratio. T.Y. Hilton has to be accounted for every time he is on the field whether it's on offense or special teams.

Temple, meanwhile, is ranked at the bottom in terms of passing yards per game with 123.3. Tempe has always been a ground-and-pound team centered around Bernard Pierce since his freshman year in 2009.

Florida International has the edge in this possible bowl matchup because of home-field advantage and being a two-dimensional offense.
