Why do the computers hate the Big East?

Sure it's not on the level of the SEC or Big 12, but there are some quality football teams residing in a conference typically known for basketball.

The Cincinnati Bearcats are playing at a high level despite losing star QB Zach Collaros.

Backup QB Munchie Legaux (yes, his name is Munchie) looked lost last week against Rutgers, but was a completely different man on Saturday in the Bearcats road win against Syracuse, completing 13 of 22 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns.

With Isaiah Pead running like a man looking for a job on Sundays, the 28th ranked Bearcat offense (33.4 PPG) is deadly.

Defensively they allow a mere 19.4 PPG (15th) and are only getting better as the season rolls on. They may not be a Top 15 team, but they are certainly worthy of a spot in the Top 25.

Here are two others not getting the respect they deserve from the computers that determine every teams fate:

No. 23 West Virginia

The only team that made the Top 25 out of the Big East, WVU is being overlooked because of a bad loss to Syracuse a few weeks ago, but that was a long time.

QB Geno Smith is having a spectacular season (3,741 yards and 25 TDs), and the Smith-Stedman Bailey combination (1,117 yards, 11 TDs) is quietly becoming one of the best in all of college football.

Right now there are only a handful of teams that have as deadly of an offense as the Mountaineers.

No. 14 Georgia

The Bulldogs' disastrous 0-2 start sure feels like a long time ago, eh?

After beating Georgia Tech, 31-17, they have now won 10 games in a row. They are doing it with a defense that is giving up less than 18 points a game, which is 10th in the nation.

Sure, the SEC East isn't having a banner season but anytime you win that division, you are one of the best teams in the country.

They've been flying under the radar for too long and will finally get their shot to crack the Top 10 in next week's SEC Championship Game against No. 1 LSU.

Right now they should be closer to the top 10 than No. 14.
