Of all the “bugs” that can follow players around in the NFL, the injury bug is by far the worst. Not only does it make life difficult on the players that it has affected, but it completely ruins the hopes and dreams of fantasy owners everywhere.

There is some hope sitting on the waiver wire waiting for you to pluck it away, though you are at the mercy of your fellow owners’ stupidity/naivety. You have to hope that they don’t get at the player you want first.

There is a lot of bad news surrounding the injury report this week with a little bit of good news mixed in, but you have to really want to see it.

The best news for those owners fortunate enough to have him is that Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson is back after missing the last six games with a hamstring injury.

Of course, in the interim, the Texans also lost quarterback Matt Schaub for the season. That will undoubtedly have an impact on how effective Johnson is.

Another team that has been decimated by injuries is the Philadelphia Eagles, who will likely be without wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, quarterback Michael Vick and cornerbacks Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nnamdi Asoumugha.

At least now the Eagles will have a legitimate excuse when they lose.

And, oh by the way, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is out of this week’s game against Atlanta.

We all know that injuries are part of the game, but the number of superstar players that are missing time this season is getting out of control. And with the playoffs starting very soon, your team is going to look vastly different from the one that you had back in September.

We are here to break down all of the injuries and provide instant analysis on who will be able to perform and who you need to sit on the bench until they get a clean bill of health.
