Running back is a position that requires some gambling from week to week. Look at me. I thought I was set. My backs were Jamaal Charles and Darren McFadden. Now, I am scrambling to even make the playoffs.
If you're in a position like I am in, you need a little bit of help.
Fortunately, help is here. Give all of these guys a good look this week. The situations are right for good games.
While we're on the subject, take a look at Donald Brown. With Addai returning from an injury, my guess is that he'll be the primary man on Sunday. What I like about both is the defense they'll be facing, the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina desperately needs a better presence against the run. They can't stop anyone. But that's their problem. As a fantasy owner, it's your job to notice things like this and use them to your advantage.
Any back against Carolina is a good play this season. The Colts have no passing attack and the team they're playing can't defend the run. Seems like a good mix to me.
Gerhart isn't struggling so much as he's experiencing what happens when you're on a depth chart behind Adrian Peterson.
But this week, Peterson is looking more and more like he won't play. If he does, he'll need rest. Atlanta's defense won't put all of its attention onto Gerhart. Percy Harvin is far more dangerous.
Look for a solid game from Gerhart, and don't be surprised if he finds the end zone.
What makes Woodhead valuable is that he's a good pass-catcher. Especially in PPR leagues, that adds a lot of value.
Kevin Faulk is banged up. If he plays, it will be in a sparing role. That opens up Woodhead even more.
In addition to all of that, they are playing the Eagles. Philadelphia has been abysmal against the run all season.
This is a gamble worth taking.
