There will be threes.

The previous record for points in one game for a Division III player stood at 77. Grinnell College standout Griffin Lentsch did a whole lot of standing out last Saturday as he tap danced past that record on his way to 89 points.

Here is a video collection of each and every score by Lentsch as he torches the Principia College defense. You would think that after 70 or so points, Principia would think better of allowing Lentsch to get the ball.

Nope. For our entertainment's sake, I'm sure, The sharp shooter is left to get the ball wherever he pleases and chuck up shot after shot. He even drains a free throw after getting fouled on a three-point shot, that he makes.

The funniest part of it all is the meager ambiance of such a tremendous feat. Here is a star player throwing down something historic at a gymnasium that looks suited for junior high games.

You would think that the crowd of ten people in the stands would get a little more raucous as Lentsch approached, let's say, 50 points. Nope, they cheer him on like they were applauding a Little Leaguer pitching a decent game.

Well, I am here to applaud the wizard of Grinnell College with one huge standing ovation. It is no small feat to drain this may buckets in one game.

There is a bright future for this D-III phenom, perhaps as a shooting coach or a head coach at a junior college somewhere.

If you are looking to score on something, try suiting up against Principia. I hear they are letting just about anyone drop history on them.
