RCA/Hoosier Dome, Site of WrestleMania VIII, Has Imploded!

The site of WrestleMania VIII is no more!

Saturday Dec. 20, 2008, the RCA Dome (previously known as the Hoosier Dome) imploded and a new stadium has taken its place.

On April 5, 1992 some 62,167 fans packed the stadium for WrestleMania VIII (only the third ever WrestleMania stadium show).

Highlights from the event include...

 

Randy Savage defeating Ric Flair for his second WWF title; this was Flair's first WrestleMania! 

Bret Hart beat Rowdy Roddy Piper for the Intercontinental title in a rare (at the time) good guy vs. good guy match.

Hulk Hogan's "farewell match" with Sid Justice. He returned a year later.

The return of the Legion of Doom and the Ultimate Warrior.

 

This would be the last WrestleMania to be held in a stadium until WrestleMania XVII in 2001!
