So before I reveal some life-altering information, I will take this time to wish you the best of luck preparing your tasty bird, whipping up those mashed 'taters and making that stuffing that will soon be sitting in the bottom of your awaiting abdomen.
What's better than football on Thanksgiving?
Seeing your favorite team play while you gracefully stuff your face. Whether you are a fan of the Miami Dolphins or Dallas Cowboys, you can certainly appreciate the history between these two on Thanksgiving Day.
Perhaps the most infamous meeting between these two teams on Turkey Day was the impossible 16-14 victory for the Dolphins in 1993. On a snow-covered field at Texas Stadium, Miami was lining up for a game-winning 40-yard field goal, trailing the Cowboys 14-13.
Just after the ball was kicked by Miami's Pete Stoyanovich, Cowboys' defensive tackle Jimmie Jones blocked field goal attempt. The ball laid still yards past the line of scrimmage—until Leon Lett dashed towards the ball, touching it and inducing a live-ball situation.
Miami would eventually recover the ball and kick a short field goal to win. Had Leon Lett not touched the ball after the block, Dallas would have prevailed.
Miami is 3-1 against Dallas in Thanksgiving Day games, while leading the series 7-5 all-time. The Dolphins are also 5-1 all-time on Thanksgiving Day.
The last time these two teams faced off on Thanksgiving as in 2003. Miami's Jay Fiedler torched the 'Boys—passing for three touchdowns and rushing for one more—as Miami won decisively 40-21.
