Italians Get English Dates

Jose Mourinho is "delighted" after Inter drew Manchester United in the second round of the Champions League. The Portuguese is set to rally his troops against familiar faces once he faces Sir Alex Ferguson again.

Ferguson's last European battle with Mourinho was a memorable one as Manchester United got knocked out by eventual winners Porto in the 2003/04 season.

Luciano Spalletti hopes to sadden the English again as Roma will face Arsenal. Roma won their group that also featured Chelsea.

Meanwhile Claudio Ranieri wants to gain vengeance at the expense of Chelsea, his ex-employers. Ranieri was sacked by Chelsea after one season of Roman Abramovich's Chelsea takeover.

So the Italians get dates with the English, which is not a good idea according to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

De Laurentiis commented that English women don't wash their special places in an attempt to keep the club's assets in place. No comment.

Serie A Transfer News

According to sources in Italy, Milan are targeting ex-Juventus defensive midfielder Stephen Appiah.

Appiah, who is currently a free agent after being released by Fenerbahce, will be Gennaro Gattuso's replacement with the latter out with a serious injury.

Should Appiah not favor a move to Milan, the Italian giants will turn their attentions to Palermo midfielder Giulio Migliaccio.

Meanwhile, David Beckham has passed his medical and will be enjoying the rest of the season with Milan while Victoria enjoys shopping in Milano.

Torino are interested in Empoli's 22-year-old Nicola Pozziwhile Palermo are targetting Fiorentina's Gianpaolo Pazzini and Udinese's Marco Motta.

According to fresh reports from Rome, Lazio are aiming to go back a decade and sign a star from the history books called Roberto Ayala.

With William Gallas fed up with life in London, Milan and Juventus are said to be ready to stand in a queue for the France international's signature.

Deep, deep breath...

Fiorentina's Franco Semioli is linked to Genoa, Chievo's Christian Maggio is surpirisingly and comically linked to Real Madrid, Milan want to snatch Morris Carrozzieri away from Sampdoria, Cristian Zaccardo has issued a "come and get me" plea to Juventus and Valon Behrami has reportedly snubbed interest from Italian sides.

Italian joke of the year nomination goes to...

Carlo Ancelotti: I hope Beckham does as well as Ronaldinho!

How well has Ronaldinho done at Milan?

Ciao.

Juve don't need Gallas and all his drama. Chiellini and Legro are already one of the best central combos in Italy.

I don't look too into that. His price would be too high and he's getting up there in age (31). And it's not like he's guaranteed a starting spot. Can't imagine the kind of mess he would cause if he doesn't get to play.

Even though they almost sold him to Man City last summer, I don't think they would part ways with Chiellini now. He's their future captain. No way.
