NBA, NBA Central, Chicago Bulls, Joakim Noah

When the Chicago Bulls selected Joakim Noah in the 2007 NBA Draft, Florida coach Billy Donovan told the Gainesville Sun that Noah needed to learn a lot more in the NBA.

I am a big Florida Gator fan, and just like every other Gator fan, we didn't want Joakim to leave.  Now the real question remains—was skipping senior year a good choice for Noah?

Maybe not.

Since Joakim has been in the NBA he has had to learn a lot from his new teammates. In addition, he has also needed to learn a lot about how the Bulls ran their offense and defense.

Nevertheless, he is still a contributing player when it comes to defense—blocking shots, setting up screens, and guarding opponents.

Joakim Noah will not be as great as Kevin Durant or Shaquille O'Neal.  He is just not that type of player.

In the future, I see Joakim Noah being a good player.

  1. You have no clue what you're talking about. Bulls' fans are clamoring for Noah to start over Ben Wallace. We recognize that Noah brings energy to a team that needs its desperately. Plus, check your stats. When Noah gets 30 minutes, he comes away with a double-double.

  2. I live 45 minutes from the United Center and I watch every Bulls game. If I have to work I record it.
The plan was to have Noah take over when Ben Wallace started to slow down around the end of his contract with the Bulls. However thats happened alot faster than anybody really imagined. As for Noah I have been really pleased with his rookie season and many people think by seasons end he'll be the starter because he's smart. He can pass and play pretty good defense. He is a really nice rebounder also. Passer blahblahblah, he has some post game but it's still pretty raw but that can get better. His shot needs work but like last night he's shown he can knock down a 15 footer now and then. Really the fans love Noah! They like the fact that he stood up to Wallace when he was joking on the bench in a blowout loss. I think Noah(assuming he puts the work in) can be a future 13 and 10 guy and maybe even AllStar season or two. He's consistant for the most part and I think he'll be a Bull for a long time.

  3. He slid in the draft because his offensive game will never be strong. However, his hustle and rebounding ability will make him a great role player for a long time, and he will do the little things to help a team win IMHO.

  4. Remember Dennis Rodman? Noah can be that kind of player with a little more time and improvement. Give the kid a break, he ended up getting thrown into the fire a lot sooner than he should have been because Wallace got old overnight it seems. He wants to win, and that makes him valuable.
