Despite the uncertainty swirling around the football program, Ohio State was fortunate enough to receive a verbal commitment from defensive end, Adolphus Washington.

The standout defensive end hails from Taft High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is ranked as the eighth best defensive end in the nation, according to Rivals.com. At 6'4" 250 lbs, Washington could definitely make an immediate impact for the Silver bullets next season.

This is a big catch for Ohio State, not only because of Washington's talent, but because the Buckeyes must continue to dominate recruiting in their home state.

Interestingly enough, Washington stated at his news conference that he expects not to play for Luke Fickell, but instead rumored head coach candidate, Urban Meyer (via ESPN).

This statement will only further the speculation surrounding Meyer and Ohio State, but nonetheless is a huge commitment for the Buckeyes.
