Sometime when you are caught up in the middle of something special, you just forget to step back and marvel at greatness. It's only when you look back that nostalgia sets in, and you realized what you have witnessed.

I received a phone call from an old friend and what he said got me thinking and thanking. He said, "It's just scary how Michael Turner destroys defenders like rag dolls." My friend is in a different state and he follows a different team. "It just isn't fair," He said.

So here we are witnessing a player that strikes fear in other teams fans. What do you think it does to opposing players?

Michael Turner is the rightful mainstay of a team that also has Tony Gonzales, Roddy White, Julio Jones, Harry Douglas and Matt Ryan among others. Without him, the Falcons are a very different team.

As games wear on, would be tacklers get short arms and hesitate. Turner just gets stronger and more determined to make someone regret trying to get him down.

Fans call him "The Burner" but teammates call him "The Centaur." The amazing thing is that he is a lot of both.

You get the sense that Turner is being saved for the postseason. That's when his burst and drive will break an opponent's will to go on.

On this Thanksgiving Day week, we are witnessing greatness and we should be glad he is on our team.
