NFL Picks Week 12: Tom Brady's Pats Will Destroy Hobbled Eagles Secondary
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots passing attack will destroy a Philadelphia Eagles secondary battling injuries to key players when the two teams meet on Sunday.
Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie likely will not play against the Patriots in Week 12 which is terrible news for the Eagles because Brady is averaging 315.7 passing yards per game.
Without Asomugha's amazing coverage skills, the Eagles have no one capable of limiting Wes Welker's effectivness.
Welker is an ultra quick receiver and is so important to the Patriots offense. Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel is good but he does not have the coverage skills needed to stop Welker.
Philly certainly has no one good enough to cover Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is unstoppable right now.
Gronkowski has 10 touchdowns already this season, which matches his total from all of last season. He also has five touchdowns in his last three games.
His combination of size and strength makes him one of the toughest, if not the toughest player for defenses to stop in the NFL.
The Patriots passing offense is once again a prolific unit this season, and rarely have an off game. Against an Eagles secondary hurting with injuries, Brady will smell blood in the water.
Brady will have little trouble dominating the Eagles defense and putting up way too much points for Philly quarterback Vince Young to match.
The Eagles have very small hopes of making the playoffs this season, but those will crumble this week against the league's best quarterback.
