Erin Andrews Video: Watch the Aftermath of ESPN Reports First Gatorade Bath
Things got crazy in Waco after the Baylor Bears stunned the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night.
Erin Andrews was standing by on the Baylor sidelines when the Bears scored with eight seconds left to stunningly put themselves up 45-38 over the Sooners.
At some point during the jubilation and excitement and mayhem and chaos that ensued following the touchdown, Andrews was given her first Gatorade bath.
Another ESPN employee back in 1986, Bill Parcells, made the Gatorade shower popular. He was dunked with the athletic drink after every win that season up to and including the Giants Super Bowl XXI victory.
Since those years, it has been common on the sideline to see a coach or MVP of a big game receive a Gatorade bath in celebration of victory.
Now it seems that no one is safe from the Gatorade dunk, not even popular sideline reporters who had nothing to do with the outcome of the game.
Andrews obviously took the bath in stride and even made it a point to tweet out a picture and video about it after the game.
She also joked that she ended up with swimmer’s ear from the Gatorade.
The ESPN sideline reporter is one of the most popular women in all of sports and has gained national recognition for her beauty and high-profile endeavors.
I’m not surprised that one of the Baylor Bears’ players or fans got overly excited after their win and decided to give someone they recognized a Gatorade bath. There are a lot crazier ways to celebrate.
