The main event on the UFC 139 card turned out to be a fight for the ages between Dan Henderson (29-8) and Mauricio Rua (20-6).

The fight was Henderson's third return to the UFC at 41 years old.

Although he is up there in age, he managed to take down one of the top talents in the Light Heavyweight division in Shogun Rua.

Henderson came out strong in the fight, nearly ending it by knockout in the first round. He continued the beating into the second round and third round before he ran out of energy.

Shogun took advantage, but it was a little too late.

All three judges scored the fight 28-27 in favor of Dan Henderson.

The win is a huge one for Henderson. By taking out Shogun, it's now possible that he could jump up to third in the Light Heavyweight rankings.

Trailing just Jon Jones and Rashad Evans, it will be just a matter of time before Henderson is ready to take on the champion.

This could be the last push of his career to get the belt.

Forget looking ahead. This fight will go down as one of the greatest ever in UFC history. It was a battle between two guys that were clearly done halfway through the fight.

Neither gave up, and both fought to the final bell rang.

Henderson may walk away as the winner on paper, but both won over some fans tonight.
