LSU vs. Ole Miss: Live Scores, Highlights and Analysis

Good evening, Bleacher fans! I’m Chris Humphrey and I’ll be with you for tonight’s game between top ranked LSU and the Ole Miss Rebels as the Bayou Bengals look to lock down their 11th win of the 2011 season.
Before No. 1 LSU take on a top 10 Arkansas team in the season finale on Black Friday, the Tigers will make the trip to Oxford, MS to maul the hapless Ole Miss Rebels, who are currently residing in the basement of the SEC West.
After surviving the Game of the Century two weeks ago against Alabama, the Tigers can continue to recover from the intense game with the Crimson Tide as LSU is on a collision course with the first trip to the BCS title game since beating Ohio State in 2007.
But for the game today against Ole Miss, LSU will have the edge in every major offensive and defensive category against the Rebels so we might see the No. 1 team in the land run away with the lead and send the faithful in attendance home with their seventh SEC conference loss in 2011.

In the season finales for both of these teams, LSU has Arkansas in Baton Rouge while Ole Miss will travel to Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl rivalry game.
I want to thank everyone who stopped by during the live blog and those who will stumble across this in the coming days. Good night!
As I take a look at the box score from the game, the biggest thing that I see is the versatility of the LSU running game.
The ground game had seven players on offense get a least 25 yards against Ole Miss on 47 carries tonight.
Whoever LSU plays in the title game pending if they do, the Tigers' running ability will be the key to gaining the school's first National Championship since the 2007 title game against Ohio State.
And that's the game. Finally!
LSU improves to 11-0 on the season and Ole Miss falls to 2-9. Like I said, this loss is the 13th straight for the Rebels.
Tonight's loss is the 13th straight SEC loss for Houston Nutt and the Ole Miss Rebels.
I hope the Ole Miss administration can bring in a new coach that bring some fire back to this program that not too long ago was going to bowl games.
I think it's classy that LSU is trying to just give the ball back to Ole Miss with taking a knee via the victory formation.
I'm sure people will still complain that Les Miles should have went for it instead taking a knee and simply giving right back to Ole Miss.
I just caught a mistake - The score is LSU 52, Ole Miss 3. I know it's not a big deal because this game has been over since right around the middle of the first quarter.
BREAKING NEWS: Ole Miss has forced LSU to kick a field goal. I think the world might be coming to an end. I know, I know over the top but I'm just trying to make this game fun to watch right now.
LSU 52, Ole Miss 0
Zach Mettenberger comes into the game as relief for Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee. LSU has crazy depth at positions across the board. This team will be just as scary next season as well.
James Stampley gives LSU another rushing touchdown on fourth down and goal.
The Tigers should talk Ole Miss into doing the mercy rule because has gone beyond ridiculous tonight.

I'll agree with the ESPN announcer on the game - Barkevious Mingo is the greatest name in all of college football.
Just like Spencer Ware in the first half, running back Michael Ford took the option pitch from Jordan Jefferson to the house literally untouched to open the second half.
You have to believe that Ole Miss is on the verge of quitting because they're not really playing with a sense of urgency this game.
LSU 42, Ole Miss 0
With the second half getting ready to begin, LSU will end up making this ugly in the second half as the Ole Miss defense has yet to be able contain the Tigers offense.
Let me know in the comments what do you think the final score of the game will be.
Thankfully for Ole Miss and the fans at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the first half is finally over as the Tigers are leading 35-3 over Ole Miss.
The two biggest points to look at while at halftime are the total yards and turnovers for Ole Miss. The Rebels only have 116 yards of total offense and three turnovers against LSU.
Ole Miss is on the board as we have just 1:03 to go in the first half with a 40 yard field goal. To be honest, I thought LSU was going to block the attempt and just take away whatever crowd is still into this game in Oxford.
LSU 35, Ole Miss 3
I have to give to Barry Brunetti after that 44 yard run against the LSU defense. I know this game is over already but that was an awesome play by the Ole Miss backup quarterback.
Spencer Ware literally runs untouched through the Ole Miss defense for a 35 yard touchdown. I wonder if Les Miles and the coaching staff are starting to talk about their season finale showdown with Arkansas next week?
LSU 35, Ole Miss 0
You gotta love that the ESPN commentators saying that "Brunetti is running for his life" as the LSU defense converges on the quarterback. This defense is ridiculous tonight.
You can add a Kevin Minter fumble recovery for a touchdown for the LSU defense tonight. So with that touchdown, the LSU defense is outscoring the Ole Miss offense 14-0 so far in the game.

With the end of the first quarter, LSU has three different types of touchdowns against Ole Miss as the Tigers have a rushing, passing and a interception return for a touchdown.
Is this game over already? Let me know in the comments.
Barry Brunetti, former WVU quarterback, is in the game in relief for Zack Stoudt. I'm sure Stoudt is happy to get away from that tough LSU defense.
Russell Shepard pulls in his third touchdown catch of the season on a 22 yard pass from Jordan Jefferson. Let the rout begin of Ole Miss
LSU 21, Ole Miss 0
After a short timeout, LSU eventually punches the ball into the endzone after Kenny Hilliard notches his fifth touchdown of the season.

Jordan Jefferson gets the nod to start the game at quarterback over Jarrett Lee. I think the choice of Jefferson is the best option for LSU as he can move out of the pocket much easier than his counterpart Lee.
Here is the pick six by Ron Brooks of LSU on the first Ole Miss drive of the game.
You have to feel bad for running back Brandon Bolden of Ole Miss. It's horrible seeing a senior player get hurt in the final home game of the season.
