John Cena Survivor Series: Why Heel Turn Is a Must for Tonight's PPV

Tonight's main event for Survivor Series may be the most anticipated fight in the WWE in years.

The Rock will make his first return to the ring since 2004 to team up with John Cena against The Miz and R-Truth. There is a lot of speculation at how the fight will turn out since Cena and The Rock have been feuding for quite some time.

Some believe that one of the two will turn heel tonight by turning on their teammate. I'm one of those people.

Tonight we will see Cena turn heel on Survivor Series. Here is why it needs to happen.

Build Up Young Talent

If this match would go down as a typical match, what would you see happening?

It's pretty simple actually. The Rock and Cena would absolutely crush R-Truth and The Miz.

Why would the WWE do this? They have spent months building up these two young talents in the business. Why just break them down and let them be destroyed tonight?

It won't happen. John Cena is going to turn on The Rock at some point in the match allowing Miz and R-Truth to win.

It will help their WWE careers continue to flourish and build the feud between the two stars.

Too Predictable

As I said before, without the storyline between The Rock and Cena this match would be a complete joke, let alone the main event of a pay-per-view.

The predictable outcome would be for the fight to be pretty even for awhile. Both teams trade shots and do the typical nonsense. Then there's a big finishing move and a heroic comeback out of nowhere for the win.

Way too predictable. So predictable in fact, that something else needs to happen. Somebody needs to turn to keep things interesting.

It's Just Time For It to Happen

Face vs. face matchups typically aren't as exciting as one's between a heel and a face.

For that reason, either The Rock or Cena need to flip before Wrestlemania. It just doesn't make sense for The Rock to flip.

He is coming back to wrestling after a long absence. An attempt to flip him would completely fail. Long-time fans would still cheer for him regardless.

Cena has been the good guy for nearly five years. The act has just gotten old and it's time for a change of pace.

If it doesn't happen now, it never will.
