Every win is milestone, from here on, for Coach Krzyzewski who recently passed his mentor, Bob Knight, for most wins in Division one Men’s basketball.

Coach K needed three wins to pass Bob Knight and he achieved this in three games.

The last one a hard fought victory against Michigan State where Knight was a commentator.

At one point, in that game, Michigan State shot a three pointer that missed but Bob Knight’s keen eyes noticed the ball never touched the rim. He went on for while about how he always was able to see things the refs missed, as a coach.

Knight was validated when the game was stopped and the referees checked the replay monitors only to confirm that the ball indeed did not touch anything and the shot clock should not have been reset.

This caused Knight to go off on another round of self promotion. There is nothing like an “I told you so” moment but what Knight and his broadcast colleagues failed to notice was that during the replay, Mike Krzyzewski was in the ear of the referee just before the game was stopped.

Coach K is the coach with the most wins because he doesn’t make it a habit of missing things like these either.

Now every game Duke wins puts distance between protégé and mentor and more importantly, now that this milestone is out of the way, everyone can concentrate on the season. So far Duke is undefeated (3-0) but aside from the Presbyterian game it has been a battle to win the other two games. They beat Belmont in the season opener by one point but that was excused because Belmont won 30 games last season and are a veteran team.

A veteran team that got blown out by a relatively young Memphis team, but there is more to that than meets the eye!

People are understandably worried about this Blue Devil team and how far they could go in the NCAA tournament or ACC conference. Florida State will not take a back seat to any team so It's not a clear cut North Carolina versus Duke conference.

Especially seeing that, North Carolina, currently ranked No.1, is looking to put a hurt on what looks like a vulnerable Duke team.

Many have criticized the Plumlee brothers’ (Miles and Mason) offensive prowess. Laughed that Austin Rivers may be overrated, wondered if Seth Curry can really play the point. Thought Duke is ranked too high at No.6.

What we have haven't to fully realised is that Coach K has been accredited 903 winning games for a reason.

He knows how to win.

With Coach K at the helm expect Duke to be in every game that they play. They may not win pretty but it is better to win ugly than lose beautifully.

With arguably the best coach in the country, this Duke team should be considered underrated.
