Dan Henderson has long been a champion whether it was in Greco-Roman Wrestling or when he made the transition to Mixed Martial Arts. He began his MMA career fighting in Brazil before making his UFC debut at UFC 17. He went on to win the middleweight tournament before making a permanent move to Japan.

He defeated Gilbert Yvel, Renato Sobral and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira while on his way to capturing the Rings King of Kings 1999 Tournament. Keep in mind that all three of those fighters he defeated were larger than Henderson, that was just a precursor on how he would fight in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

He debuted with the Pride organization at Pride 12 in December of 2000. Henderson would fight for Pride until February of 2007. Throughout his time there he would capture the welterweight title and the middleweight championship. The latter he won by defeating Wanderlei Silva, a man who had held that title for over five years.

Henderson would rejoin the UFC and was unsuccessful in his attempts to capture the UFC Middleweight Championship and Light Heavyweight Championship against Anderson Silva and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, respectively. After three more bouts in the UFC, Henderson joined Strikeforce where he would capture their Light Heavyweight Championship. Now we find Henderson back in the Octagon for the third time battling another former Pride standout in Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

With all of the success Henderson has had inside the cage it's easy to see why he's become an astute businessman outside of it. He is one of the original founders of Team Quest and in 2007 he Henderson purchased an apparel company called Clinch Gear. Available in 11 different colors, Clinch Gear sponsors many of the sports top fighters including Fedor, Cung Le and Joe Warren.

Henderson wanted to do something special to mark his return to the UFC and being that the fight is just days before the Thanksgiving Holiday, he has come up with something that will help make some needy families holidays that much better.

“With the Thanksgiving holiday just days after my fight, we want to remind fans that there are a lot of people out there fighting for more important things than a UFC title,” said Henderson. “There are so many American families are struggling to pay for basic necessities, such as food, clothing and shelter, and this is an opportunity for Clinch Gear and the MMA community to make a difference this Thanksgiving.”

The walkout tee Henderson will wear as he makes his entrance to the Octagon will feature the phrase "Heart & Mind Overcome All." Henderson & Clinch Gear are looking to inspire people from all walks of life to go after their dreams and show how far Henderson's hard work has gotten him in and out of the ring.

“Giving back is a big part of our company culture,” said Clinch Gear CEO Bruce Pettet. “With the help of the MMA community, our donations will give needy families a hearty Thanksgiving meal and a little less to worry about this holiday season.”

Clinch Gear will subsidize the cost of providing a Thanksgiving meal to a family of four at either the Denver Rescue Mission or the San Diego Rescue Mission. These are areas where Clinch Gear operates. The deal will run through November 24th. Clinch Gear is offering either Henderson's walkout shirt as well as cornerman's shirt as part of the deal.

Both shirts will cost $29.95 and can be purchased on Clinch Gears website and from authorized distributors. Here is a chance to support a fantastic cause and one of the greatest fighters to ever grace the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.
