According to examiner.com, the face of the WWE John Cena will be hanging out with the ESPN College GameDay crew.
The article states:
The University of Houston Cougars, who are undefeated thus far in college football, are home this coming Saturday against SMU and will have a big special guest on hand for the game over at Robertson Stadium.
The hosts of the national weekly broadcast "ESPN College GameDay" will be in town covering what has been one of the true surprises in the sports world this season. And joining the GameDay crew will be none other than former WWE Champion John Cena.
ESPN announced on Tuesday that the former champion will appear a special guest picker during the broadcast. Cena is a former Division III All-American Center at Springfield (Mass.) College.
This is pretty good timing for the WWE, as this game takes place the day before Survivor Series. I am sure it doesn't need any more help promoting the once-fledgeling pay-per-view. However, press is press, so if this brings in the casual wrestling fan, the WWE rakes in some extra cash.
It also allows fans of both wrestling and college football a chance to take in a different side of Cena. I'm sure he will still be portraying his character, but we could see shades of the real John Cena.
This is not the first time a WWE star has filled a picker role as The Miz did something similar with Sirius/XM satellite radio. In the beginning of the 2011 NFL season he was a guest for its fantasy football Draft.
