In its storied history, the Ole Miss Rebel football program has never lost 10 games in a season, but after a 27-7 homecoming loss to Louisiana Tech on Saturday, it looks like that may happen in 2011.

The Rebels have fallen apart since their 14-13 loss in the season opener against BYU, only getting wins over Southern Illinois and a struggling Fresno State team.

From the looks of it, the Rebels will not win a single conference game.

The last time Ole Miss went winless in SEC play was Ed Orgeron's final year. It looks like that's the ticket that will get you run out of Oxford. I remind you Houston Nutt was informed of his firing last week.

There is a mass frustration surrounding the Ole Miss family. It starts with the fans, moves to the alumni and donors, and gets all the way to the players on the field and the administration. It is evident the young players are not used to losing this much, and want nothing more than to win.

Ole Miss hosts the top-ranked LSU Tigers this weekend in the Magnolia Bowl in Oxford, and probably will add loss No. 9 to the seasons loss column. It is quite a shame this season has gone this way, many had bright aspirations coming into this 2011 season hoping there wouldn't be a repeat of last year's 4-8 effort.

Well, I guess they got what they wanted, they didn't repeat the 4-8. Yay!

The Rebels close out their second straight losing season November 26 when they travel to Starkville for the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State, which could very well end their season at a 10 loss tally and last in the SEC West. This Rebel team will be the first ever in Ole Miss history to record 10 losses in a season.

With Nutt out and many assistants probably not far behind him, many are optimistic about the Red and Blue's future. How can you not be? They can only go up.

Most fans wonder who will be leading their Rebels on the sidelines next season. Mike Leach? Kirby Smart? Gus Malzahn? We shall see.
