College Football Week 12: Who's Hot, Who's Not in the SEC

1 of 5

The SEC is the toughest college football conference in the nation. They have three teams in the BCS top 10 and six teams in the top 25. It seems like that at least one team from the SEC will have a shot at the BCS National Championship every year. Here is a look at some teams from the SEC that are hot and some teams that are not.

Hot: Georgia Bulldogs

2 of 5

Georgia had a rough start to their season. They lost the season opener to Boise State and followed that game with a loss to South Carolina. The Bulldogs were relentless and fought their way back to win eight straight games. They now sit at the top of the East division in the SEC and control their destiny.

The Bulldogs are looking great and if they can keep this momentum going forward, they could give LSU a run for their money in the SEC Title game

Hot: Arkansas

3 of 5

Arkansas has been a big surprise in the SEC this year. they lost quarterback Ryan Mallett in the draft but Tyler Wilson has stepped and has led the Razorbacks t a 9-1 record. The Razorbacks have been playing tough on defense which gives their explosive offense many chances to score.

The Razorbacks only loss was to number three ranked Alabama but they have had big wins over South Carolina, Texas A&M and Auburn. If the Razorbacks can continue their good play into their game against LSU, many people would not be surprised if LSU is on upset alert.

Not: Florida

4 of 5

This has been a tough first year for Will Muschamp and the Florida Gators. They changed up their offense drastically and they don't have the spark they once did. The Gators are sitting at 5-5 with a big game left as they face rival Florida State.

The Gators are fighting just to get into a bowl game. They lost four straight games in October which is hard to imagine. This Florida team will be good in a few years but they are ice cold right now.

Not: Auburn

5 of 5

It was going to be tough after Auburn lost Cam Newton to the NFL draft. They started this season out strong as they won four out of their first five games. They have been very inconsistent as they lost to Arkansas, Georgia and LSU but managed to beat South Carolina and Florida.

The Auburn Tigers are in the middle of the pack of the SEC. They have a big game at the end of the year against rival Alabama. After their huge loss to Georgia, they need to heat up before they face Alabama or it is going to be a very long game.
