The WWE is an ongoing library of great matches either waiting to happen or that have already taken place. The 90s were a pivotal time for the company as the WWE, then known as the WWF, saw themselves on the verge of extinction only to rally all the way back and reclaim dominance as the unparalleled power in professional wrestling.
The WWE played host to a handful of fantastic matches in the early to mid 90s, and the WWE's late 90s resurgence could be attributed to great matches that helped define an era.
With each instant classic staged in a WWE ring during the 90s, a new standard of in-ring excellence was set and what it means to stage an epic encounter was redefined.
From Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart's memorable contests with a multitude of great talents, as well as one another, to the Undertaker and Mankind's jaw-dropping Hell in a Cell match at the King of the Ring, Big Nasty and B/R video break down the greatest WWE matches of the 1990s. The competition is stiff, but only one match can truly be considered the absolute best from the final decade of the previous millennium.
