Johnathan Joseph Crushes Kellen Winslow Jr: Watch Today's Biggest Hit
Johnathan Joseph crushed Kellen Winslow Jr. in the biggest hit of Week 10.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were moving down the field, hoping to put something, anything, together as the Houston Texans poured on the points.
Quarterback Josh Freeman rolled out, connecting with Kellen Winslow Jr. with what would have been a first down.
Then Johnathan Joseph happened.
With a crushing hit on a bang-bang play, Joseph separated the ball from its receiver and Brian Cushing was able to come up with it.
On first glance, the hit doesn't look very bone-crushing, but it was a big hit for two reasons.
First, watch the replay and the end of the video as Winslow walks away. It is clearly a hit that rattles the tight end and leaves him wobbling toward the sideline. Any time a defenseless receiver doesn't see the hit coming and his momentum carries him into a defender, that's a big hit.
Perhaps more importantly, the hit changed the flow of the game—from a first down catch into an interception. The Texans scored on the ensuing drive to put them out of reach.
